Let’s get one thing straight: I am by no means any kind of luthier. But as a guitar aficionado, I felt it was my duty to try to make a guitar out of the bits of maple, ash, and redwood that I had on hand. This was purely an experiment to see if I could. It turned into an object lesson about perseverance because in the end, I ended up with a one-of-a-kind functioning guitar.
